Welcome to the Team: Ben Frick

Mohagen/Hansen has grown with the addition of Ben Frick.  Ben is a recent graduate of North Dakota State University and holds a masters degree in Architecture.

As an Intern Architect Ben will be helping out with our growing work load in many aspects of the office. He comes to us from Menard’s Corporate office where he was doing store layouts and using AutoCAD. Ben is knowledgeable in 3D rendering as well as Revit.

What is the most recent movie you've seen?  How was it?
The Hunger Games, it was very good and had some interesting plot twists.

What interested you in the field of architecture?

For the most part, a 3D modeling and drafting class taken in High school, but I also wanted to choose a career that I could mix computers with my skill for hand drawing.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

Alaska has to be at the top of my list so far. The deep sea salmon fishing and beautiful scenery is amazing and would recommend it to anyone.

What is your favorite activity when you are not at work?
Spending time with family and friends is something I really enjoy, especially now that I have two nieces to see grow up. In fact, the youngest (Fiona) has a birthday this weekend and will be turning 1. Also, I like to spend time with my fiance' (Jess), planning our wedding (Sept. 1st in Stillwater, MN) and looking for houses in the area.

If you could have dinner with anyone, living or deceased, who would it be and why?
Kirby Puckett because he had a "nice-guy" attitude and would be very easy and interesting person to talk to about any topic. Baseball has always been a passion of mine and Kirby has and will always be my favorite player.

MMGMA 2012

Mohagen/Hansen was an Exhibitor and Silver Sponsor at the Minnesota Medical Group Managers Association (MMGMA) Winter Conference, which was held at the St. Paul River Centre on February 6th and 7th.  “This conference provides a great opportunity for us to network with our existing clients, while gaining exposure to new clients and prospects alike,”  says Mark L. Hansen, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, Principal and Director of Mohagen/Hansen’s Healthcare Design Studio.  This conferences is known for its excellent programming on timely topics in healthcare practice management.  This year’s educational programs focused on changes and challenges in the healthcare environment that affect delivery of care, employee retention, and the changing demographic of today’s patient.  As exhibitors, we take this opportunity to share the new projects that we have recently completed, and to talk to administrators, clinic managers and their staff about innovative design solutions that we are implementing in today’s healthcare environments.

The Smurfs. It was actually pretty good, the kids loved it.

What interested you in the field of architecture?

High school drafting class sparked it all off.

What is your favorite vacation spot?

Maui Hawaii.  I married my beautiful wife on Kapalua Beach in 2003.  (toes in the sand)  : )

What is your favorite activity when you are not at work?
I love making my kids giggle uncontrollably.

If you could have dinner with anyone, living or deceased, who would it be and why?
Jimmy Doolittle.  I would really enjoy finding out if he was the visionary aviator or just a real gutsy stand up man that just flew threw life like he flied.
